Shirley Mino is an ESOL student who originated from Ecuador. A single mom, she’d enrolled in our English classes when, unfortunately, she lost her job during the early days of the COVID-19 pandemic.
She decided to utilize her time by improving her literacy and English skills. In winter 2022, she enrolled in our Computer-Assisted Citizenship Classes as she was awaiting her naturalization interview.
During her time in our citizenship classes, she obtained multiple NorthStar Microsoft Office certificates showing us her perseverance and hard-working determination to build a better life for her and her children.
In March 2022, Shirley shared that her naturalization interview date had been scheduled. We are proud to announce that she passed her interview and is waiting for her oath ceremony to officially become a U.S. citizen.
Shirley is now employed and is immensely proud of her ability to provide for her family.
