What is the GED?
A GED, short for General Educational Development or General Equivalency Diploma, is a credential that can be earned by individuals who did not complete their high school education but want to demonstrate that they possess the equivalent knowledge and skills of a high school graduate.
To earn a GED, individuals need to pass a series of tests that assess their knowledge in subjects such as mathematics, science, social studies, and language arts. The GED tests are designed to measure the academic skills and knowledge that are typically acquired in high school.
Earning a GED can open up educational and employment opportunities for individuals who didn’t graduate from high school.
