Opportunities for a Better Tomorrow (OBT) offers free construction training programs in Brooklyn, NYC, designed to prepare young adults for entry-level and skilled roles in the construction industry. Our hands-on programs provide industry-aligned training, certifications, career coaching, and job placement support—all at no cost to participants.

Construct Forward
Construction

Kickstart your construction career with our NYSDOL Certified Pre-Apprenticeship Program! Get OSHA30, Site Safety, and hands-on training in carpentry, electrical work, and renewable energy. Paid internships available. Through our partnership with Kingsborough Community College, you’ll gain hands-on experience in carpentry, electrical work, and renewable energy while preparing for career pathways in construction. Open to ages 18–30 with a HS diploma or GED.

Bridges to Craft Careers
Construction

In partnership with Green-Wood Cemetery, the Masonry Restoration Program is a 10-week work readiness and pre-apprenticeship program for participants interested in construction and related industries. This program is hands-on, and students will learn how to care for historic structures made of marble, granite, and brownstone—a highly sought after skill in today’s market. A Green-Wood mausoleum will be utilized as the foundation for the training.
