Youth Program Director

Location: Remote to Onsite (Brooklyn, NY)

Opportunities for a Better Tomorrow (OBT) is looking for an experienced Program Director for our Train and Earn Program at our Bushwick, Brooklyn location.  Under the supervision of the Senior Director of Programs, this program leader will be responsible for leading an interdisciplinary team to ensure young adults (17-24) receive robust career and education training. This role provides a unique opportunity to impact the lives of NYC young people and lead in a mission driven organization.


  • Provide supervision to an interdisciplinary team of instructors, counselors and staff members
  • Lead and innovate on program design to ensure that contract milestones and outcomes are met and exceeded
  • Facilitate weekly staff meetings, case conferences and staff check ins
  • Coach, develop and support team members
  • Ensure program protocols, procedures and processes address all contractual requirements
  • Participate in and lead professional development
  • Develop and improve curricula to ensure youth engagement and employer feedback are attended to
  • Coach, develop and support team members
  • Collaborate with OBT’s Employment and College Access Teams to ensure effective communication and transitions to post program opportunities
  • Foster and enhance a culture of continuous improvement
  • Assess and improve on programmatic processes to ensure collaboration

  • Have experience engaging in and building relationships with varied stakeholders including young adults, employers, internal teams, and community partners

  • Have experience with/knowledge of integrated programs providing work based learning and academic instruction
  • Ability to navigate through Salesforce or related CRM systems

Bachelor’s Degree required (Master’s degree preferred) in social work, non-profit management, human services, education or a related field, experience leading youth development, workforce and education programs required; excellent communication, ability to prioritize and execute in a fast based environment.
