Y Roads is a collaborative partnership between the YMCA of Greater New York and Opportunities for a Better Tomorrow that works to serve “opportunity youth,” youth who are not in school nor working in the high need communities of Jamaica, Queens and Mott Haven, Bronx. Y Roads works to assist youth to attain self sufficiency and financial security by combining OBT’s experience in youth job training, education and workforce development and the YMCA of Greater New York’s wrap-around support services including mental health counseling, housing, and wellness programs. Y Roads works to put young people with a wide range of educational, developmental, and employment readiness needs back on the path to success.
From helping a young person get a high school equivalency diploma, to preparing them for the workforce, to counseling for emotional and behavioral issues, to providing essential health screenings to providing access to state of the art recreational facilities – Y Roads centers give young people the tools they need to move forward in life, and the guidance and support they need to reach their full potential!
