Position Summary
Opportunities for a Better Tomorrow (OBT) is seeking an innovative and enthusiastic work Readiness/Credential Instructor in our Advance and Earn Program. Under the supervision of the Coordinator of Workforce Development, the Work Readiness Instructor will be responsible for the credential achievement and work readiness goals associated with a new program that supports opportunity youth 17-24 in three program components including contextualized academic programming at the Pre-HSE level, comprehensive High School Equivalency and work based learning and sector focused advanced training.


  • Develop engaging workforce professional development at all levels of the program
  • Provide career exploration, planning and the development of individualized goals
  • Create and deliver contextualized credential training and curricula
  • Facilitate curricula design including the development of immersive, differentiated, project based and responsive workshops and lesson plans.
  • Develop and implement workshops and instruction that are contextualized and provide a range of work-based learning opportunities
  • Assure achievement of all program milestones, benchmarks and credentials at the required intervals
  • Monitor the flow of young adults throughout program components
  • Develop systems for and track all data
  • Cultivate and manage relationships within OBT’s interdisciplinary team
  • Participate in regular observation, feedback and coaching to improve performance
  • Participate in professional development to share best practices and improve educational programming

  • Experience/knowledge of integrated programs providing work based learning and academic instruction


  • Bachelor’s degree, Masters preferred
  • At least three years relevant work experience in providing work readiness and/or industry recognized credential instruction
