Senior Outreach and Engagement Coordinator

Location: Sunset Park, Bushwick, Jamaica

Salary Range: $60,000-$65,000

Position Summary: The Outreach and Engagement team plays an integral role in promoting OBT’s mission and programs, engaging in community partnerships, and driving program enrollment. The Senior Outreach and Engagement Coordinator is responsible for developing, and lead the execution of, a comprehensive outreach plan to increase program awareness, support engagement and enrollment among youth and adults in OBT’s programs

Essential Job Functions and Responsibilities:

  • Develop and establish goals and priorities related to increasing community awareness of OBTs services and programs.
  • Works closely with Program Directors to ensure enrollment goals are met and facilitate the sharing of best outreach practices between staff.
  • Takes the lead to ensure team maintains online database records and assist team members as needed.
  • Conduct research on community needs, trends, and issues to identify potential outreach projects.
  • Organize community events such as tabling and back to school events, etc. to educate the public on OBT programs and services.
  • Establish and maintain contact with individuals, community organizations, non-profit organizations, and other key stakeholders.
  • Track organization referrals through Salesforce and update supervisor and referring organization on participant’s progress.
  • Travel to various sites throughout Brooklyn and Queens.
  • Perform all other appropriate duties as assigned by supervisor.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Must be available to work evenings and weekends, if needed.
  • High degree of discretion dealing with confidential information required.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint) required.
  • Ability to engage with community members and youth and young adults.
  • Experience in community outreach, developing and deploying outreach strategies.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills. Proven track record of developing organizational outreach strategies.
  • Strong organizational and management skills.
  • High degree of integrity, professionalism, and punctuality.
  • Experience with Salesforce or other databases preferred.
  • Bilingual a plus.

Education and Experience/Training:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Public Relations, or related fields, preferred.
  • Experience working directly with people from diverse racial, ethnic, and socioeconomic backgrounds.
