Join the OBT Junior Leadership Board!

Make your mark: OBT’s Junior Leadership Board is recruiting!

If you’re interested in helping the local New York community…

If you foresee a leadership position in your career…

If you want to use your skills to contribute to a great cause…

In 2013, Opportunities for a Better Tomorrow (OBT) expanded its leadership capacity by creating the Junior Leadership Board (JLB). The mission of the JLB is to support OBT’s fundraising efforts, expand the reach of OBT’s network, and make a direct impact on the people OBT serves. The JLB is comprised of diverse young professionals from different industries, which provides OBT participants exposure to various sectors and job functions.

The JLB provides OBT with fresh energy, new ideas, and its own perspective. They contribute to OBT’s mission by providing resources for young people and adults to learn skills, gain employment, and find success in their lives.

We’re seeking committed professionals to serve and contribute to the development, growth, and success of the youth and adults who walk through OBT’s doors each day, through assisting with OBT programs,  raising awareness of OBT’s work in the local community and beyond, and taking part in fundraising events and efforts.

JLB members will be required to:

  • Attend quarterly meetings in NYC
  • Contribute to annual fundraising goals
  • Support OBT events in NYC
  • Participate in OBT initiatives such as our mentoring program
  • Bring your own creativity and ideas to the group

Opportunities for a Better Tomorrow (OBT) exists to break the cycle of poverty and inequity through education, job training, and employment. Since 1983, our guiding values of integrity, excellence, and empowerment have helped over 15,000 individuals in New York communities gain the skills and proficiencies needed to start on promising career paths.
