Moratorium on Utilities Termination: Governor Cuomo has asked the New York State Department of Public Service to direct utilities providers not to terminate service for any person who has not paid their bill as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic.
If you have questions about a housing court case and/or eviction proceeding:
There is currently a statewide temporary suspension of all eviction cases, orders, and eviction warrants.
A marshal cannot evict you at this time and if they attempt to, please report to the Bureau of City Marshals at 212-825-5953.
All pending eviction cases are temporarily suspended and will be rescheduled, so do not go to housing court.
If you have issues with apartment repairs or heat and hot water, you should call 311 to report the condition. You may start a case in housing court for emergency repairs.
