The OBT team recently attended the SOMOS conference in Puerto Rico. The theme of SOMOS for 2022 was “Neighbors Helping Neighbors,” and this was manifested in several days of service of events and workshops. As Assembly Member and Chair of the NYS Assembly and Senate PR and Hispanic Taskforce, Maritza Davila has described SOMOS as being about legislators, allies, and organizers joining forces to support the people of the island as they fight for social justice and a just economic recovery.
