This program was created by OBT staff in 1992 to provide job retention support for the newly employed and seasoned worker. Two OBT supervisors conduct SAW sessions. Meetings are held the first Thursday of the month at OBT Sunset Park and the third Thursday of the month at OBT North (7:00 pm - 8:30 p.m.).

SAW was designed to promote job retention by providing workers with:
• a forum of peers to discuss and/or ease the transition to the workforce
• group and individual counseling for ordinary or extreme on-the-job problems
• monthly monetary incentives up to one year of SAW membership
•guest speakers
•One-on-one counseling by supervisors at any time via telephone for those participants who cannot make the meeting.
Dinner, snacks, and a free door prize of $25 are given at each meeting. Two new policies have been inaugurated this year: each participant will get a $20 check per meeting, ONLY if he/she confirms attendance by end of business day on the Tuesday preceding the meeting; all participants that provide a pay stub within the first or third quarter of steady employment will be eligible for a $20 Metro Card.
