Monday - Friday, 8:30 a.m.-4:15 p.m.; two 20-week cycles per year, serving 240 youth, 17-21.

Daily classes in Business English, Business Math, Keyboarding, Office Procedures, Computer Training, Pubic Speaking & Communication (2 hours/week), and World of Work; Pre-GED and GED are taught on-site at OBT Sunset Park by a teacher from the NYC Department of Off-Site Education Services (OES).
Pre-GED classes are available for those youth who scored too low on intake exams to enter the job training program. Students in this class attend only Pre-GED academic classes, counseling classes, and computer instruction. They are expected to adhere to all OBT standards while taking this course (dress code, behavior, etc.) in the expectation that they will ultimately test out of Pre-GED and be fully enrolled in job training.

Tutoring is available every morning one-half hour before start of the program. Each participant is assigned to a supervisor (counselor) who monitors the trainee’s progress and offers one-on-one assistance with personal, educational, and career problems. We place a great emphasis on improving soft skills and demand professional behavior, attire, attitude, and communication at all times. Corporate recruiters work closely with supervisors and managers to evaluate each participant’s abilities, and try to place each one in positions closely suited to his/her talents and interests.
